The supplemental restraint
system consists of SRS air bag and seat belt with
pre-tensioner and force limiter systems.
The pre-tensioner system will retract their respective
belts instanously, reduce injury from excessive
movement, thus maximizing the seat belt’s effectiveness
if there is an impact severe enough to injure the
driver and the passenger. And each force-limiter
system will effectively absorb the load applied
to the seat belt so as to minimize the impact to
the passenger. When the impact sensors detect an
impact of sufficient force, the air bag control
unit will activate the automated circuit to ignite
materials in the inflators (in the air bag modules
and seatbelt pre-tensioners) to generate gas and
inflate the air bags. |

(1) SRS-Air bag
The air bags are designed to deploy when the vehicle
suffers a sufficient impact to protect human from
injury.
(2) Force limitter
To reduce excessive force application
on passenger by the seatbelt
(3) Pretensioner
To limit a movement of passenger
forward by pulling the seatbelt |
